Enterprise in Heels a Huge Success

35 students came together with a host of business women and entrepreneurs for an afternoon of inspiration and business tips this Wednesday.
The day kicked off with Jane Kenyon of the Well Heeled Divas, who encouraged the students to step up to entrepreneurship. She passed over to Merryn and Sarah of Perris-Myatt who showed students some practical techniques to act confidently, even when you don’t feel it! Joyce and Rachel of Moore & Smalley finished off the workshops by talking the students through the intricacies of a business plan and the tax implications of starting a business.
The day culminated with a Q and A session, with students finding out about running a business in the current economic climate from Ellen Kerr of Business Link, Wendy Bowers of So Business Solutions, Jo Cocker of the NWDA and Jennifer Coatesworth of The Yummy Cupcake Company.
Every attendee was treated to a Yummy Cupcake, kindly donated by Jennifer Coatesworth of the Yummy Cupcake Company in Lancaster.
Feedback was fantastic and we’re already planning the next event!
There will be an Ideas Generation workshop in Week 5 especially for the female students who attended, to come up with a business idea now that they’ve got the confidence to go for it!
If you are interested in attending this workshop, please email Lizzie and she will book you a place.
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed and attended the day – thank you for making it such a success!
