Workshops

Create workshops are designed to teach you fundamental business skills. Each one lasts a little over an hour, is run by either an entrepreneur or a business professional and is kept as practical as possible. Students from all degree disciplines will learn something useful from them.

Students who attend all the workshops in one term receive the Create Certificate which lists the skills and knowledge they have developed and which they can put on their CV.

Places are limited and they fill up quickly so book your place on the workshops asap.

This term Create will be running:

Business Planning
Ian Bolland of Bolland Associates will teach you the secrets to writing a good business plan that people will want to read. Using a simple easily understood model Ian shows you how to put your idea down on paper in under 10 pages.

Market Research
Julie Graham of Distinction Marketing will show you how to find out who your potential customers are, what they want and the best way to reach them – vital if your business idea is to be successful.

Marketing On A Shoestring Budget
Claire Geddes of LUSU Marketing will show you how to get your message out there and how to communicate with your customers and clients without spending a fortune.

Sales Workshop
Phil Pond of Scarlet Opus will teach you the skills of selling either face to face or over the phone.

Meet the Entrepreneurs
Meet three real life entrepreneurs and learn the principles of success they apply to their businesses. There will be a Q and A session and at least one of the entrepreneurs will be looking to work with those students whose ideas he likes and thinks are viable.

Business Finance Work

Brian Hopkins, director of CBH training talks you through the basics of finance and financial reports. If you want to learn how to prepare and manage a budget or cash flow, and to speak with confidence about your figures in front of the Create Panel, then this is the workshop for you.
